Earlobe

With Surgery, it is possible to set back prominent or differently deformed earlobes.

Surgery for children up to 10 years old is usually is covered by insurance. Earlobe surgery is only recommended after 6 years of age so that child is able to undergo surgery under local anesthesia.

The surgery itself will take about one hour under local anesthesia. The procedure consists of cartilage softening by grinding, succeeding by modeling and drawing earlobes towards head. The surgery could be done in out patient bases or one day hospitalization. It is necessary to have special bigger bandage for the first week after the operation, for another one to two weeks only loose headband. It is also recommended to use headband when practicing sports for two to three months following surgery.

Stitches will be removed after 10 to 14 days after operation, the patient will be able to wash hair from 3 to 7 days depending on the healing. Result of operation is permanent.
